Here are some Initial Ideas for what to write about for Journal Entries in Math 225:

1. From being in this course for this short time, what are some ways that Geometry and Algebra have been used together so far? What are the connections you've seen in the problems?  Give some examples?
2. How was the Pythagorean Theorem connected to the puzzle exercise we did in class?  Describe in your own words how the puzzle proved the Pythagorean Theorem and how it helped your understanding of the algebraic term "squaring".
3. What does it mean for a point to be equidistant from twoother points? Give examples from the problems we've done that asked questions about equisdistance.  How do we show that a point is equidistant from other points?
4. Talk in your own words about the differences between drawing something on Geometer's Sketchpad and using the tools on GSP to Construct something.  In your experiences so far, what are the implications of not being aware of the differences?
5. Pick a problem that particularly gave you trouble in the first few weeks of school and write about what was difficult about it.  Be sure to correct your errors and make notes for yourself so that you can remember what those errors were.
